Secretary Evnen unveils new online voter registration system on National Voter Registration Day

September 15 is National Voter Registration Day, and the Secretary of State’s office is introducing Nebraska’s new online voter registration platform. This new system combines Nebraska’s votercheck website and online voter registration form to allow citizens to register, update their registration information, change their party affiliation, check the status of their early voting or provisional ballot and find their polling place all in one convenient place.

In honor of National Voter Registration Day, Secretary Evnen is encouraging eligible Nebraskans who are not registered to take some time today to register to vote. Nebraskans who are already registered to vote are urged to verify their registration and ensure their mailing address is up to date.

“Americans are fortunate to have the right to make our voices heard at the ballot box,” said Evnen. “We’re proud to unveil this new online voter registration system to make it simpler than ever to fulfill our civic duty. I encourage every eligible Nebraskan to verify they are registered and vote on November 3.”

In addition to creating a voter registration one-stop-shop, the new system is expected to reduce administrative burden for county election officials by streamlining the registration process and reducing duplicate registration application forms.

The last day to register online to vote in the 2026 general election is October 16, 2026. Remember that 17-year-olds who will turn 18 on or before November 3, 2026, and who are otherwise eligible, can register now to vote in the 2026 general election.
